Background

 

The Professional Pages experience has been deemed frustrating for Creators due to its navigation system. Creators have expressed difficulty in locating the necessary tools, including vital functionalities such as messaging, the help center, and creation tools. This major pain point highlights the need for an improved navigation system to enhance user experience and increase productivity for Creators.

Previous Experience

The FaceBook App had so many fragmented composer and entry points. The creation point is confusing due to the numerous options and buttons for creating different types of content. Previously, there was a creation bar at the top, followed by tabs below offering options to view and create stories, reels, rooms, and more.

SOLUTION

Build a simplified, feature-rich, and scalable creation experience for Creators to express themselves easily.

The aim of the project is to streamline the creation process for Creators by prioritizing tools and minimizing features that are not relevant to their needs. The team's vision is to customize the navigation and in-app experience to the specific tools and features that Creators use, while hiding any superfluous features that may detract from their productivity. By doing so, Creators will have easier access to the tools they require, and the creation experience will be more efficient, allowing for better results.

Fixed Tab with Persistent Creation

Make it easy for Creators to find the tools they need. Fixed navigation bar to reflect most used Creator features with the following tabs: Home, Professional Dashboard, Notifications, Bookmarks, and a persistent creation entry point.

Universal Composer

Provide creators a universal creation option by using the creator navigation. Selector will provide option to create post, reels, stories, rooms, and live audio. In the future we can also customize this for other types of users like business and other professional accounts.

Outcome

Overall, we observed an increase in the quality of daily engaged creators. The project successfully launched to creators who have Professional pages on the FB App.

Total posts: increase averaged 1.6 posts, with possible variations of around ±1.2 posts.

Feeds posts: Increased by about 1.3 posts per user, with variability around ±1.3 posts.

Reels posts: Average increase of 4.8 Reels posts per user, with a standard deviation of 10.1.

28 Day Active: Active engaged users increased by 24% with variability around ±1.9%.
